CTF calling for break as AB. budget tabled

This is budget day in Alberta and it looks like a fairly lean onePremier Danielle Smith has told Finance Minister Nate Horner to keep spending increases beneath the rate of inflation and population growth. Smith says that can be done without major cuts or new taxes. She has also made it known that the province will be focusing on investing more into the Heritage Savings Trust Fund and not putting all of our eggs in the energy basket. Finance Minister Nate Horner shares more of the details which includes a 4.4 per cent increase in the Health department’s budget.The Canadian Taxpayers Federation has been calling on the Alberta government to cut income taxes especially since a large surplus was anticipated. Alberta Director of the CTF, Kris Sims, explains.
