Thousands protest UCP across Alberta including Lethbridge

Across the province today, large rallies were held as the Alberta Federation of Labour held its “Day of Protest” as part of their “Fight Back Now” campaign to push back against UCP government policies. The protests covered 20 rallies across 15 different communities, including a large gathering here in Lethbridge.

Hundreds reportedly descended to Galt Gardens at noon on Friday. People with their own personal concerns says they feel they have a lack of representation in their communities.

The Alberta Federation of Labour says about 6,000 people attended a Friday morning rally in Edmonton, while 400 people met in Red Deer and 200 in Medicine Hat. Calgary is expected to hold large numbers on Friday evening as well.
