Lethbridge improves crosswalk safety with leading pedestrian intervals

As the City of Lethbridge expands pedestrian safety measures across more intersections, officials are introducing new crosswalk signals designed to give pedestrians a head start before vehicles receive a green light. The initiative aims to improve visibility, reduce conflicts between drivers and pedestrians, and make intersections safer for everyone using the roads.  

Brummond says this timing strategy is used similarly in many other cities in Canada and the United States.
