Coaldale offering rain barrel rebate program
The City of Lethbridge recently passed first reading of its water rationing action plan which includes a reduction target of five per cent if the water in the Oldman Reservoir drops below 25 per cent for more than a week. The current level is around 43 per cent which is well below where it normally sits which is between 63 and 85 per cent. As part of an effort to conserve water ahead of any mandated water restrictions the Town of Coaldale voted to get ahead of the game and implement a rain barrel rebate program. The Manager of Government Relations for the Town of Coaldale, Jonathan Wensveen, explains how it works.
