Lane additions coming to Whoop-Up & Scenic Drive interchange

Major improvements are coming to the Whoop Up Drive and Scenic Drive interchange which began Tuesday June 16, and will continue through November.

The city aims to improve motorist and pedestrian mobility by adding two extra lanes of travel on Scenic Drive South in each direction and a second lane along the westbound Whoop-Up Drive on-ramp. The City will add signal upgrades, a multi-use path, and update pedestrian crossings.

The updated on-ramp will be similar to the on-ramp from northbound University Drive West to Whoop-Up Drive.

Work begins Tuesday to widen the on-ramp to Whoop Up west. While lane closures are currently not in effect, there will be varying speed reductions for passing traffic throughout the interchange.
