Lethbridge-raised wrestler wins silver at University Worlds

A wrestler originally from Lethbridge has captured a silver medal at the FISU World University Combat Championships in Brazil last week.

Angelina Ellis-Toddington competes with the University of Calgary’s 68kg class and was one of four Canadians to win a medal. With this year being her last at the UofC, Angelina says her sights are now set on competing for the Olympics in 2028.

During her five years at the U-of-C where she just recently graduated, Ellis-Toddington managed to rack up three U-SPORTS medals in her career, claiming a national championship in 2025 and gold at the Canada West championships earlier this year.
