$3.2 Million gifted to strengthen Southwestern-Alberta’s youth leadership

Knowing the importance of supporting youth, the Community Foundation has announced the Dr. David and Mrs. Shirley Hughes bequest of almost 3.2 million dollars. Charleen Davidson, Executive Director of The Community Foundation, says the gift will support charitable organizations, projects, and activities across Southwestern Alberta that focus on developing youth leadership and enriching the lives of young people.

She says the Hughes were strong advocates for youth leadership and played a critical role in launching the Community Foundation’s Youth in Action grant program, which empowers young people to become leaders and make a positive impact in their communities.
