Smile Cookie Campaign kicks off across southern Alberta
Today, Tim Hortons kicked off Smile Cookie Campaign week across Canada. Here in southern Alberta, officials and members of the community rolled up their sleeves and got to work, grabbing cream-filled piping bags to decorate cookies with pink smiles to raise money for different local charities, with 100 per cent of proceeds from each cookie donated locally. In Lethbridge, the campaign is supporting Green Shirt Day and Logan Boulet Endowment Fund within the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.
Meanwhile, the mayors of Coaldale and Taber launched their own friendly battle, as the local Tim Hortons locations once again compete to see which community can sell the most cookies and raise the most money for local programs supporting mental health, youth, parenting and seniors’ services.
The Smile Cookie Campaign week run from April 27 until May 3, The initiative has been running in Canada for nearly 30 years.
