Kainai-Centre expands to add Alberta’s first Indigenous dementia-care facility

Southern Alberta will soon have its first dementia-care facility specifically serving its Indigenous community. A groundbreaking ceremony for the Kainai Continuing Care Centre expansion took place on Thursday. The expansion will add 25 continuing care beds, bringing the facility’s total to 50, while expanding assisted-living and dementia-care services on the Nation.

The expansion is expected to be completed by spring 2028.
