SASH unveils food pantry in Magrath

A local not-for-profit that supports adults with developmental disabilities is giving back to the community in Magrath.
SASH is a non-profit society that provides community access and home living supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Darren Bennett, Executive Director of SASH says the organization had limited ways of helping the community coming out of the pandemic, and the idea of a food pantry in Magrath was suggested by one of his staff. He says he reached out to local businesses and organizations in and around the area to determine the need.
The first hamper pick-up will begin on June 23 and will take place the second and fourth Friday of each month. An open house was held on Wednesday afternoon to let the community come meet the staff, volunteers and tour the facility.
Donations can be dropped of at 22N 1 St West in Magrath between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. There are also drop off bins located at various businesses around Magrath, or arrangements can be made by emailing foodpantry@sashab.ca
