County issues fire ban amid extreme wildfire risk

Lethbridge County has issued a Fire Ban as extreme wildfire risk continues across the region. Effective Thursday morning, all outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice. County officials say hot, dry conditions have left vegetation highly susceptible to fire, and even a single spark could quickly ignite a fast-moving grass fire. The official says activities that are not allowed include recreational campfires, burning barrels and incinerators.
