Utility work closes sections of arterial roads

Lethbridge city crews have closed a busy stretch of Scenic Drive North this week in order to carry out electrical work.

Scenic Drive North between 26 Avenue North and Uplands Boulevard North is now as crews excavate the roadway to install underground conduit, before ultimately filling and repaving the road. Drivers can expect lengthy detours that circumvent the work site, with all motorists being asked to respect the signage and drive with care.

Weather permitting, work is expected to wrap up and the road reopen by this Friday.

Elsewhere on the roads, the eastbound lanes on 6th Avenue South between 15th Street S and 16th Street S are closed for a sewer service repair, while the westbound lanes of 3rd Avenue South between 20th Street S and Mayor Magrath Drive S are closed for a water main repair.

In each area, two-way traffic will be established on the adjacent lanes. Both roads are expected to reopen on Wednesday.
