Alberta teachers returning to work | Dave Naylor | October 30th, 2025

More than 50,000 Alberta teachers trudged back to the classrooms on Wednesday after back to work legislation was passed by the Alberta government.

Under the law the teachers will get a 12% raise over four years, with the majority of teachers getting 17%. The UCP has pledged to hire 3,000 more teachers and hire hundreds of classroom assistants.

Here with more is Dave Naylor, of the Western Standard.
