Fundraising for Lethbridge cardiac services surpasses $33 million

The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation’s Bringing Hearts Home campaign is celebrating after recently surpassing its fundraising goal, with $33 million in donations.
A celebration was held Thursday at the hospital’s fourth floor, that will soon become host to the future cardiac care centre in Lethbridge. Foundation leaders call the accomplishment, “humbling”, as work is expected to begin, on designing the new lab next month.
Dr. Sayeh Zielke, one of the primary advocates for bringing urgent cardiac care to the region, will be moving on from her role with Cardiac Sciences in southern Alberta to become the interim CEO of Acute Care Alberta.
