Fire ban reduced to restriction in Lethbridge County

The Fire Ban in Lethbridge County has been downgraded to a Fire Restriction. This was reported in a statement by Lethbridge County, adding data shows the wildfire risk has lessened due to recent precipitation, while forecasting models and data show this trend may continue this week from lower temperatures and additional rain. Moving from a Ban to a Restriction will now allow for some previously banned activities include Recreational campfires, burn barrels and incinerators with spark arrestors, Gas/propane and firepits/rings. While controlled burns that would normally require a burn permit and fireworks are still prohibited.
