Spearman prepared to follow Wood Buffalo’s lead on EMS motion

The municipality of Wood Buffalo unanimously approved a motion to provide notice to Alberta Health Services that the regional 911 Emergency Communications Centre will no longer transfer the 911 calls to the AHS Provincial Dispatch Centre. The news comes after AHS flipped the switch on integrated EMS systems. Lethbridge Mayor Chris Spearman says he stands with Wood Buffalo and is prepared to put forth a similar motion. Spearman, along with Fire Chief Marc Rathwell says there have been extreme delays in emergency calls since the change.
