“Ten thousand restaurants across Canada have closed” due to pandemic, according to local restauranteur

Ten thousand restaurants across Canada have closed due to the pandemic, according to the owner of Hickory Street BBQ Restaurant in Stirling, AB

Devyn Bohn says locally she knows of some who are on the verge of closure.
“As far as I know everyone’s opening their doors (this week),” she says. “The sentiment is excitement and everybody’s just excited to see everybody back in their doors.”

It’s been nearly two months since guests could sit down at a table to eat or drink in Alberta restaurants, and following the mandated stoppage of in-person dining, as of Monday restaurants and coffee shops can once again offer dine-in service with health restrictions still in place.
