LPS seizes fentanyl, issue drug trafficking charges on man

A 29-year-old Lethbridge man faces multiple drug trafficking charges after police seized more than 1,000 doses of fentanyl  this week.

On Tuesday September 1, Police responded to a report of people using drugs in a parked vehicle along the 400 block of Highlands Boulevard. They arrested a men and a woman in the vehicle, and a second man who returned to the vehicle some time later.

Officers seized 110 grams of fentanyl, equivalent to approximately 1,100 individual doses, nearly 30 grams of cocaine, 88 grams of methamphetamine, more than $1,000 in cash, bear spray and a collapsible baton. They seized further cash and cocaine from the second man when he returned. Property believed to have been stolen from a westside business was also recovered.

Levi Cyprian Harris is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was remanded in custody and reportedly appeared in court on Friday. The male and female initially arrested from inside the vehicle were released without charges.
