Legendary Medicine Hat Tigers broadcaster Bob Ridley reflects on 4,000th career call

Bob Ridley, play by play voice of 50 years, called his 4,000th Medicine Hat Tigers game over the weekend. The WHL announced the Bob Ridley award for media excellence. The award will be presented annually to a media member. Ridley says looking back, the southern Alberta community has meant so much to him, including Lethbridge.

“We’ve had a great rivalry (with) Lethbridge over many many years. I’ve got so many good friends over there in Lethbridge that I’ve made over the years, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re one big community here in southern Alberta,” says Ridley.

Ridley has been the only play-by-play voice in Tigers history, and has called every single game the Tigers have ever played, with the exception of one.
