Hurricanes celebrating 40th anniversary this weekend in two home games
The Lethbridge Hurricanes are celebrating 40 years of Canes hockey in a pair of back-to-back games at home tonight and Saturday.
The Canes will debut a special 40th anniversary jersey during tonight’s game versus the Prince Albert Raiders at 7 p.m. and will wear another throwback jersey in Saturday’s game against the Calgary Hitmen. Over 50 Hurricanes alumni will attend Saturday’s game, and fans will have an opportunity to meet them at the concourse between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., before the puck drops at 6 p.m.

The Hurricanes franchise was originally founded in 1967 with stints in Winnipeg and Calgary before ultimately relocating to Lethbridge in 1987. The Canes won the WHL championship once in 1997.
The Hurricanes are 0-3 to start the 2026/27 season heading into the weekend.
