Cereal Killer campaign supports Lethbridge Food Bank

Due to rising grocery costs, food bank use in Canada reached 2.3 million visits in a single month, according to Food Banks Canada. That growing need is also reflected in communities like Lethbridge, where local organizations are working to help families fill their shelves.

As part of that effort, Sponsor Energy and the Lethbridge Food Bank brought back the annual Cereal Killer campaign today at the Pizza 73 parking lot on Mayor Magrath Drive South. The initiative invited residents to bring a box of cereal and help fill the truck.

In addition to the cereal collection campaign for the Lethbridge Food Bank, sponsor Energy donated $7,450.

The report also found that nearly 10 million Canadians face food insecurity, with children accounting for nearly 776,000 food bank visits.
