Friends who helped locate Med Hat fisherman, learn hard lesson

Friends remember the popular Medicine Hat fisherman known as Vlogger John. The 35-year-old’s body was retrieved four days after he went missing, at Lynx Creek in the Crowsnest Pass where he’d been solo fishing.

Rajesh John, his real name, who is a husband and father, had been making his mark in the sport through his own YouTube channel and had his share of fans. But his death has been a sobering reminder to anglers and outdoorsmen alike, to have a buddy system in place and let people know exactly where you’re going.

John’s friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help get his body back to India where he’ll be buried. There is also a Rajesh John silent auction fundraiser auction that will Saturday, August 13 at 11 a.m.
