CTF on ineligible businesses receiving loans

A report by Canada’s Auditor General says the Trudeau government gave out billions of dollars in loans to ineligible businesses during the pandemic. The Canada Emergency Business Account offered emergency loans of 40 to 60 thousand dollars to small businesses and forgave 10 to 20 thousand dollars if it was repaid by a certain date. In total the program doled out 49.1 billion dollars in loans to nearly 900-thousand small business owners.Franco Terrazzano is the federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. He says there was simply no oversight when the federal government was dishing out so many of these loans.
