Cattle liner overturns at Highway 3/43 Street intersection
Commuters in East Lethbridge faced serious disruptions throughout Friday as a commercial vehicle rolled over at the intersection of Highway 3 and 43rd Street.
Fire and EMS were on scene since just around 11am after a cattle liner overturned. The vehicle contained a number of live cattle, which remained contained inside the trailer. One animal was injured and had to be euthanized. No other injuries were reported. The rest of the livestock has been safely removed.
Clean-up of the scene has been delayed due to an equipment failure of the vehicle dispatched to remove the damaged cattle liner. As of late Friday afternoon, crews remain on scene.
Motorists are asked to continue avoiding the area, otherwise expect delays and detours from the site. The investigation into the rollover collision is ongoing.
