Classes return at Nanton High School following bomb threat
Classes have resumed at J.T Foster High School in Nanton following an unexpected bomb threat on Wednesday. At around 10:20 in the morning, the main office received a call from an unexpected caller saying there was a bomb at the school. Police were immediately notified, and the school quickly evacuated. The principal of the school there are supports in place for students who might be feeling uneasy to come back to class.
“Any emotional upset that was immediately reported to myself for the counselor, and whatever support that was needed was provided in the moments after the incident. Of course, our primary concern is student safety. And once the risk had subsided, now we turn our attention to make sure that students understand what happened and why we do things and why we believe the school is a safe place to be going forward.”
The investigation revealed that the call originated from Edmonton and there was no bomb at the school.
