Gas prices fall in Canada amid U.S. Midterms results
You might’ve noticed the price at the pumps has gotten a significant relief. And now might be the best time to fill your tank.
Across Canada, many major urban centres are reporting drops between 8¢-10¢ including Vancouver, Calgary and the Greater Toronto Area.
In Lethbridge, some stations even fell nearly 15¢ per lite as of Thursday sitting at 126.9 for Costco and 127.9 GasBuddy members. Dan McTeague with Canadians for Affordable Energy says the U.S. Midterms results have brought expectations of an end to the ongoing Iran war, and markets have therefore begun removing the war premium on prices.
He adds there is likely to be another 10¢ drop before prices move back up by Sunday or Monday.
