Lethbridge Target Hunger campaign pick up this weekend

Most homes in the city should have received a yellow bag to fill up with non-perishable food items for the city’s food bank’s annual Target Hunger campaign. Danielle McIntyre with the Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge says they are aiming to bring in one hundred thousand pounds of food this year to help meet the demand of people who use the services at the food bank.

“Unfortunately, this year is going to last us an even shorter period of time just because so many people are asking for help right now. We are hoping that we will start to see a slight decline over the summertime. But we do know just with grocery prices right now, it’s difficult for people to be able to keep enough food on the table,” said Danielle McIntyre, Executive Director, Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge.

Pick up of the yellow bags will be on Saturday starting after 10 a.m.
