Award given for locating urn with veteran’s remains

The Alberta/Northwest Territories Branch of the Last Post Fund has recognized a City of Lethbridge employee and Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels for their role in discovering and identifying an urn containing the remains of a Second World War Veteran.

Glenn Miller, Director of the regional branch, held a ceremony today to honour the Veteran with a dignified burial and a permanent grave marker. Miller says the remains were placed in the National Field of Honour in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.

He led the ceremony and acknowledged the individuals and organizations involved in this meaningful discovery.

The Last Post Fund is a not-for-profit organisation established since 1909, to ensure that no Veteran is denied a dignified funeral, burial and gravestone, due to insufficient funds at the time of death.
