Lethbridge County downgrades Fire ban to fire advisory
It seems that we won’t have any more rain in the city for the next few days. Recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have reduced fire threats. However, warmer conditions are forecast in the coming weeks, potentially increasing the risk of wildfires again and prompting authorities to update the Fire Restriction downgrade to a Fire Advisory in Lethbridge County. In a statement, the county says the move from a Restriction to an Advisory will now allow for controlled burns and fireworks with a valid permit. Although the risk has decreased, wildfires can still easily start in dry or windy conditions. Please be cautious when conducting any type of burning activity. The county continuously monitors weather conditions and other data to determine when burning restrictions are needed. A Fire Restriction or Prohibition may be reissued if conditions change.
