Christmas campaign to benefit Meals on Wheels

The 13th annual Meals On Wheels 23 Days of Christmas Campaign is in full swing. This fundraiser has been put on by Teamworks Career Centre and Select People Solutions. Meals on Wheels has been going strong in our city since 1970. The program provides over 100 hot meals for those in Lethbridge who can’t provide meals for themselves. Volunteers are counted on to prepare the meals as well at the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization building. On average, over 2,000 meals are delivered over 23 days of the fundraiser. The goal of the campaign is to sponsor all of the meals this year to provide funds to keep the organization running annually. The goal is $30,000 and so far $25,000 has been raised. Since its inception, Meals on Wheels has raised over $250,000.

Business, organizations, and individuals can support this campaign by becoming an Honorary Chef and sponsoring a full day of meals, or by sponsoring a single meal by grabbing a special Meals on Wheels Christmas Card. The Honorary Chefs have the option to help deliver meals on their select day as well.

December 1st is the launch of the 23 Days of Christmas card sales. Cupper’s Coffee and Tea, The Italian Table, and Urban Grocer have partnered together. You can purchase a $20.00 Christmas card, which includes a $20.00 gift certificate for each business. For every card purchased, the partners will donate $10.00 to sponsor one meal.
