Two southern Alberta U10 players heading to Brick Invitational

Two local U10 hockey players have earned the chance to compete at one of hockey’s most prestigious youth hockey tournaments… the Brick Invitational in Edmonton.

Hunter Lee of Lethbridge and Marek Ohler of Taber, each with the Southern Alberta Young Kings, captured the Hockey Super League Championship this season comprising of the best youth teams in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The pair will play for Team Brick Alberta after securing a roster spot following a province-wide tryout where more than 150 players participated.

The tournament played every summer at the West Edmonton Mall has historically seen players go pro, with current NHL players having participated in the past, including Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Steven Stamkos and Morgan Reilly.
