Truckers begin to park their rigs following federal vaccine mandate, supply chain at risk

The federal government’s vaccine mandate requiring all truck drivers who enter Canada to show proof of full vaccination has some truckers already parking their rigs. It’s believed about 90 per cent of truck drivers who are fully vaccinated are parking their trucks in support of the 10 per cent who are not. This means even more supply chain issues for Canada. Canadians receive 52 percent of all goods from the US on the back of trucks. Al Nelson of CJD Trucking says basic resources like food and clothing will be in short supply. Starting this weekend, truck drivers from all over Canada are set to begin a cross country convoy with a final destination of Ottawa to protest the mandate.
