Coaldale awarded 2024 Alberta Summer Games

The Town of Coaldale has been chosen to host the upcoming 2024 Alberta Summer Games from July 3-6. The three day event will feature athletes putting their best foot forward all in the name of competition and fun. Video Journalist Micah Quinn has more now on this exciting announcement.

The 2024 Alberta Summer Games will be the first since 2019 to offer full programming for athletes and spectators. Staff with the Town of Coaldale told us this is an amazing opportunity to showcase the games in our region. 

According to officials with the Southern Alberta Recreation Association there will be around 2,000 players and coaches taking part in 2024. 

The town has also been working hard on building a new recreation facility which will be put to good use during the games.
