Farming Smarter to prioritize agronomy work, emphasizes not-for-profit research
Farming Smarter says that in light of recent closures of federal agriculture research stations, that the importance of not-for-profit agricultural innovation organizations like themselves cannot be overstated.
As the 2026 season gets underway, the organization says there are close to 200 trials and research projects they will attempt to undertake this year. Their Executive Director, Ken Coles, says a major priority includes tackling soil erosion and agronomy, but they’re also challenging themselves to introduce new crops to the region.
