Third suspect charged with first-degree murder of 27-year-old man
UPDATE: A third suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of the 27-year man who dies at an apartment complex in south Lethbridge on Friday.
Police carried out a search warrant at two residences along Mt Crandell Crescent on Monday night, where they arrested a 42-year-old. Nicholas Rodney Scout of Lethbridge is charged with first degree murder alongside the two other suspects. He is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Releasing hearing.
Police say no further information will be released as the investigation continues.
ORIGINAL – March 30: Lethbridge Police have charged two men with first degree murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.
At around 6:30 a.m. on March 27, LPS and EMS responded to a report of an assault at an apartment complex along the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. When police arrived, they found an unresponsive male inside one of the units. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. He remains unidentified.
Evidence indicates that this was a targeted incident with the parties being known to one another.
43-year-old Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane and 27-year-old Jordan Frank North Peigan, both of Lethbridge were arrested without incident on March 28, and were remanded in custody. Medicine Crane reportedly faced court today, and North Peigan will make an appearance on April 7.
Police say further charges have not been ruled out, as the investigation remains ongoing. They say no further information will be released at this time.
