Lethbridge launches curbside battery collection program

Not sure what to do with your used or dead batteries? The City of Lethbridge has launched a Curbside Battery Collection Program in partnership with Call2Recycle Canada.

The campaign will run from November 18 to 28. During this time, residents can place their household batteries in a sealed plastic bags and set them out on top to their green cart on their regular collection day.

Mandi Parker, General Manager of Waste and Environment with the City of Lethbridge, says it’s important to note that batteries must not be placed inside the green, blue, or black carts. They will be picked up separately, but on the same day as your green cart.

Throughout the week of October 6-10, some households in Lethbridge will receive a battery collection bag delivered to their address, with easy-to-follow instructions for safe packing
