Lethbridge streets become one-ways to ensure student and resident safety

Drivers in one Lethbridge neighbourhood are going to have to adapt to some traffic changes as of this Wednesday. To improve the safety of students, families, and residents, the city is making changes in the Fleetwood neighbourhood. So, 11th Street South between 9th and 10th Avenue will change to one-way traffic going southbound and 12th Street South between 9th and 10th will change to one-way traffic going northbound. The city’s Transportation Engineering Manager says it’s about safety.

The city says this will also improve pick-up and drop-off of students at Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School. Signage is in place along the affected streets and will remain for approximately two weeks after the changes are made.
