UCP votes Middleton-Hope as Leth West candidate

The UCP now has their candidate for the Lethbridge West riding. Lethbridge City Councilor John Middleton-Hope won on the first ballot Monday night when he received two votes over 50 per cent. He defeated Erin Leclerc a former constituency office manager and Shauna Gruninger a Lethbridge real estate agent. The final vote tally was 289 votes for Middleton-Hope to Leclerc’s 193. Gruninger received 51 votes.  On social media, Premier Danielle Smith congratulated Middleton-Hope the former Lethbridge police chief saying, “The United Conservatives of Lethbridge-West have nominated John Middleton-Hope as their new candidate to reclaim this seat and add another common-sense voice to our team.” Middleton- Hope will now take on former Lethbridge City Councillor Rob Miyashiro with the NDP. He says he is up for the challenge. 

Hal Roberts

Hal is a veteran journalist with 30 years in the industry. He worked as a parliamentary reporter on the Hill interviewing federal leaders and cabinet ministers. Hal also covered the Ottawa terrorist attack in 2014, and has worked as an anchor/reporter in Toronto, Peterborough and Calgary. He worked as a reporter and anchor for business shows airing on BNN, Global and CHCH-TV. During his 10 year radio career he hosted a show called Roberts on the Road on KG Country. Hal was blessed to win a few awards in his career including one as senior producer for a TV show on human trafficking which aired on CTS.
