UCP votes Middleton-Hope as Leth West candidate
The UCP now has their candidate for the Lethbridge West riding. Lethbridge City Councilor John Middleton-Hope won on the first ballot Monday night when he received two votes over 50 per cent. He defeated Erin Leclerc a former constituency office manager and Shauna Gruninger a Lethbridge real estate agent. The final vote tally was 289 votes for Middleton-Hope to Leclerc’s 193. Gruninger received 51 votes. On social media, Premier Danielle Smith congratulated Middleton-Hope the former Lethbridge police chief saying, “The United Conservatives of Lethbridge-West have nominated John Middleton-Hope as their new candidate to reclaim this seat and add another common-sense voice to our team.” Middleton- Hope will now take on former Lethbridge City Councillor Rob Miyashiro with the NDP. He says he is up for the challenge.
