U-of-L marks École-Polytechnique massacre with actions against gender-based violence
It’s been 36 years since the deadly shooting at École Polytechnique in Montreal. Today the University of Lethbridge commemorated the 14 women who were gunned down on December 6, 1989, in a targeted act of gender-based violence.
This Friday morning, the university held a workshop as part of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Our BCN, Heidi Echavarria, shared the history of the tragedy, reflecting on the university’s ongoing initiatives and advocacy efforts to prevent and address violence against women.
