Accessibility top priority in Henderson Ice Centre Renovations

If you’ve gone skating at Henderson Ice Centre in the past few months; you may have noticed the facility has a bit of a new look.

The arena located off Mayor Magrath Drive has undergone a new stage of renovations, which includes four new dressing rooms that prioritize accessibility. The new rooms also come with their own private bathroom and shower facilities.

With the first of two stages of renovations completed on time and on budget, the City of Lethbridge says the work has helped to modernize the arena originally built in 1975.

The second renovation stage will renovate and update existing washrooms, dressing rooms and the official’s room, plus a new front lobby and entrance. It will begin approximately on April 1st, 2026, and has a completion goal of late summer.
