Toronto lawyer comments on Pat King trial

A prominent figure of the 2022 Freedom Convoy in Ottawa has been found guilty on five counts. A judge says Pat King is guilty of mischief, counselling others to commit mischief, counselling others to obstruct police and two counts of disobeying a court order. He was found not guilty, however, of intimidation and obstructing police himself. King was involved in the three-week demonstration against COVID-19 public health restrictions that gridlocked some streets in our nation’s capital.  Ari Goldkind is a criminal defence lawyer based in Toronto. He says he was not surprised that King was found guilty on a wide range of charges. He says, however, that if King spends any time in jail Canadians should be outraged.
