Mayor Hyggen to pen letter in support of Cor Van Raay LINK Pathway

Cor Van Raay was a wellknown philanthropist in Lethbridge who contributed millions of dollars to our community before his untimely passing in 2021. A pathway named in his honour is being discussed. It would link up Lethbridge and Coaldale. Phase 1 of the project has been approved by Lethbridge County Council. An official motion was put forward and was approved by Lethbridge City Council for Mayor Blaine Hyggen to write a letter asking for Lethbridge County to support the other phases of the project.

Lethbridge City Councillor Belinda Crowson says the bicycle and walking pathway would be funded by private donors and grants. The total cost to complete the pathway would be just over $4.2 million.
