Lethbridge to conduct complete review on fees & charges

Following Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the City of Lethbridge will be conducting a full review of all fees and charges that residents and businesses are subjected to, a motion put forward by Acting Mayor Belinda Crowson.

Council voted unanimously that the City Manager, Lloyd Brierley, will undertake a comprehensive review of all user fees, charges, and rate structures levied by the city, which would include permits, licenses, utility rates, and service charges.

The report will have a deadline for the second quarter of 2027, which would contain detailed rationales and recommendations for adjustment, and even elimination.

Any practical steps taken from this report will be deliberated for the 2028 to 2031 operation budget.
