Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society to perform 14 shows of ‘King Lear’
If you’re a fan of Shakespeare and of theatre, you are in luck. A new edition of Shakespeare in the Park is coming to Lethbridge this summer to more than a dozen outdoor sites.
The Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society will present 14 productions of ‘King Lear’ across the city and southern Alberta, a story the society is diving into for the first time. It depicts a fictional King as he attempts to split his kingdom between his three daughters based on how much each of them professes their love for him, which leads to disastrous results.
The opening show is scheduled for July 2nd at the Galt Gardens amphitheater, and shows are scheduled through until August 8th. The Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society also turns 15 years in 2026.
