Lethbridge Hurricanes reflect on end of 2021 season

It was a Western Hockey League season like never before, and now it’s in the books. The Lethbridge Hurricanes finished their 24-game season 9-12-13. From a delayed training camp, to quarantine, and rapid testing for COVID-19, the Hurricanes were able to finish the season, with no positive cases in the organization.

Head coach Brent Kisio says the club worked hard to make that happen.

“There was a lot of challenges, from the training staff…the testing. Another positive was getting through all the testing without having a positive case,” says Kisio. “We were real careful, all our guys payed attention to the rules, and we did what we needed to do to play hockey.”

“Hanging around in the apartments, we had a good bond and we all got along pretty good so that was pretty fun, and we had a lot of good times here. A lot of memories that we can reflect back on,” adds goalie, Carl Tetachuk.

Hurricanes over-agers, Dino Kambeitz, Mitch Prowse, and Liam Kindree have all graduated from the league and will not be back next season.
