St. Mary-River Irrigation District begins Chin Reservoir expansion

A major irrigation infrastructure project is getting underway in southern Alberta, as the St. Mary River Irrigation District breaks ground on the rehabilitation of the Chin West Dam. The project currently stores roughly 154,000 acre-feet of raw water used primarily for agricultural irrigation, as well as by local municipalities, water co-ops and industry. BCN’s Heidi Echavarria has the details.
