Downtown Farmers’ Market begins in Festival Square for the summer

Farmers Market season kicked off on Wednesday in the downtown core. Lethbridge and District Exhibition has partnered with the Downtown BRZ to bring the farmers’ market to Festival Square. Around 20 vendors will be in the area showcasing their products for the entire summer.   

“Over the course of a year, we we deal with 200 or so independent farmers market vendors, who, to your point, this is their opportunity to show their wares, to show what they’ve created, to sample that food product, you name it. And so it’s such an important part, and I mentioned it last week in the food security conversation here in southern Alberta. And what we can play on a more global scheme and so to have this connection point with local producers is such an important thing.”

The downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market will run every Wednesday from 9 a.m., until 2 p.m., in Festival Square.
