Lethbridge City Council approves parking enforcement changes

Lethbridge City Council has agreed to make changes to their parking enforcement.

Fines will remain at $40 until 2028 when they’ll rise to $50, but the $20 early payment reduction will be held if paid within 10 days. The increase is part of the 2028-to-2031 operating budget deliberations and may be revisited.

Other parking changes include joining part of 5^th Ave between 5th & 6th Street from a split-zone into Zone 10, and parking kiosk screens will be simplified to the zone they’re located in by the end of this year. Finally, the city will transition to sending violation tickets via mail in 2027.

These changes come following a review from city administration and the Downtown Business Revitalization Zone.
