New funding for Lethbridge Airport

The Lethbridge Airport is set to receive some much needed improvements in the form of customer experience. The City of Lethbridge received $583,480 from Western Economic Diversification Canada’s Regional Air Transportation Initiative that will be given to the airport. There are plans to install a common use terminal system, self check-in, baggage system upgrade, powered mobile wheelchairs, and a visual passenger paging system.

This announcement comes after Lethbridge city council invested over $2-million to secure $23-million in funding for the airport through the provincial and federal government. The new customer additions to the airport are expected to be completed by March of 2022.
