City of Lethbridge to host Canada Day Celebrations

A number of Canada Day celebrations will be taking place on July 1st with the city hosting them at Henderson Lake as well as at Galt Gardens. Many activities will be taking place including things like a food hub, a kid’s zone, live performers and a fireworks display.  A new addition to this year’s festivities will be a youth market.  

“Last year, we kind of did a test market with one youth vendor that was selling items, and it was really, really successful. So we decided to invite other like minded youths. So anywhere up to 17 and under, they can come between noon and four and sell their wares for that. We have ten vendors that have applied so far this year, so we’re really excited about that. We have kids that are selling their own artwork. We have some that are doing jewelry. We have some that are doing soap. So there’s just a little variety of everything. And we thought it’d be a really fun way to get kids involved in Canada Day and involved in the entrepreneurial system.”
